Software Developement, Web Design, and Hardware Repair.
As a field engineer I was solely responsible for a territory roughly 13,000sq mi from a home office. In this territory I repaired all business model laptops, printers, desktops, plotters, servers, and a few storage arrays. This position required strong self management skills including scheduling cases with customer, maintaining company vehicle and records, responding to email, time management, diagnostics, set up estimates for non-covered damaged, reading reports, and use a wide array of different diagnostic software which had to be maintained and kept up-to-date.
Responsible for repairs on all brands of laptops while maintaining a high production at a high quality rate. During the short time here, I was also being cross trained in other areas to make me more a more valuable asset to the company so I could be retained when volume was low.
Diagnosed, repaired, and tested Toshiba laptops, refurbishing them for resale quality. Laptops came in with a wide variety of conditions from simple hard drive failure to almost beyond economical repair spill damage. Received praise for maintaining over 95% quality rating while maintaining a demanding production pace.. Responsible for making sure units were properly imaged.
Identified hardware issues and referred customers accordingly to the correct department or store for hardware repair or replacement. Maintained the highest quality of customer service, exceeding Apple standards. Attended proprietary training on technical specifications and operation of iPhones, Macintosh computers, cellular data, and customer service/call handling methods. Performed call logging and cost tracking through proprietary billing system.
